Terms and Conditions

All Products made by The Sugared Baker are subject to the following Terms and Conditions:

INGREDIENTS & ALLERGENS The Sugared Baker is not nut-free. All cakes, cookies, various baked goods, fillings, and icings may contain, or come into contact with, soy, wheat, dairy, nuts, or other allergens. It is the responsibility of the Customer to inform The Sugared Baker, prior to the confirmation of their booking, of any allergy/intolerance issues. It is the responsibility of the Customer to inform their guests of all allergy/intolerance information.

The Sugared Baker will not be held liable for any allergic reaction resulting from the consumption of items ordered. All products are made to be eaten on the day of the celebration and are best eaten at room temperature. Because our cakes and buttercream are made with fresh butter, it may take 2-3 hours for your cake to come to room temperature. Please plan a delivery time and cake storage accordingly.

QUOTES All Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. In the event that the desired date has been filled by another order/customer prior to the Customer confirming the booking by paying the 50% deposit, The Sugared Baker is not obliged to honor the quote. **All Quotes are NOT bookings and are subject to availability.

ORDERS At The Sugared Baker, we prefer at least three (3) weeks' notice for all orders, as we are continually booked in advance. We will, however, where availability permits, accept short-notice orders. Short notice orders may incur a rush charge of up to $50. Any products ordered from a picture or photo, of a product produced by any other baker or bakery, can only be reproduced by The Sugared Baker as our interpretation of that product and will NOT be an exact reproduction of the product in the picture or photo. Certain creative changes may be made to your final design for the sake of stability and structural integrity. Design changes to the order may be made until 1 week prior to event. After this time any change requests cannot be guaranteed and may be subject to additional charges.

SERVING SIZES AND SIZES Cake serving sizes are estimated. Specialty cakes, carved cakes and method of slicing may affect ultimate serving number. Cookie sizes are based on widest or longest part of the cookie. The Customer understands and accepts these terms, and must order their products accordingly after having considered these variables.

DEPOSITS & FINAL PAYMENTS A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of 50% is required to hold your date. Your order is not confirmed until the deposit is paid. If an order is placed within the seven (7) days prior to pick up, full payment is required upon placing the order. The balance is due one week before the event date unless otherwise stated on invoice. Where The Sugared Baker has delivered a product that is an accurate interpretation of what has been quoted and invoiced, but the Customer does not accept the finished Product, the deposit WILL NOT be refunded.

The Customer can choose to pay the remainder and take the Product/s, or leave them at no extra cost.

POSTPONEMENT If, for any reason the event is required to be postponed, please contact me immediately. The new date proposed will be subject to availability.

UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES We will not cancel or reschedule your order unless extenuating circumstances exist. We will attempt to provide notice as far in advance as possible. In the event we do, a FULL refund will be paid within 30 days of cancellation. DELIVERY Delivery will be carried out in a safe and appropriate manner. Once delivered to the customer and change of hands has been completed with the product in appropriate condition, it is then up to the Customer to store and care for the items as per The Sugared Baker instructions. If anything is to happen to the cake after this exchange and deemed to be fault of the Customer through not following the instructions provided, The Sugared Baker is not liable for any damages. The Sugared Baker is not liable for damage due to client negligence or improper handling once the product has been picked up or delivered. A delivery date and time will be agreed by both parties, and if the Customer is not at location at this time and date, and The Sugared Baker is not able to contact the Customer, the product will be transported back with The Sugared Baker and it will be the Customer’s responsibility to collect the product at a time that suits The Sugared Baker. A deliver fee will be added for orders under $100 and outside of a certain radius. Fees will be determined on a case by case basis.

DAMAGE It is the responsibility of the Customer to check the state of the product upon delivery/pickup. Once the item has been delivered/picked up, the Customer has accepted the item as is, and is responsible to ensure that the products get to its destination safely and/or is stored as per instructions from The Sugared Baker to achieve best results for taste and quality and to avoid any damage.
